Blackland Lakes Booking Terms and Conditions

By booking with us, you consent to the following terms and conditions.  These terms and conditions apply to all contracts between you and us.

Blackland Lakes is a holiday touring park solely for caravans, tents, trailer tents and motorhomes.  Guests must be holidaymakers and stay for holiday purposes only.

The safety and enjoyment of our visitors is of the utmost importance; therefore, we ask that you read the following terms and conditions before booking.  Once a booking has been made and payment has been received, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions and any other site rules.  We reserve the right to ask guests who contravene these terms and conditions, our campsite rules, or who in any other way behave in a manner deemed unacceptable by our staff, to leave the campsite immediately with no refund.  In these circumstances, the holiday ceases and we shall not be liable for any costs incurred by you.

A £25 deposit per pitch is required at the time of booking to secure your pitch.  The full payment is required 14 days prior to arrival for individual bookings and 28 days prior to arrival for group bookings.  Please check your booking confirmation carefully to ensure that it is suitable for your requirements.  Please inform us of any discrepancy, or if you have any queries relating to our terms and conditions, within 24 hours of receipt.   Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.  Bookings must not be for more than 14 consecutive nights.  We reserve the right to refuse bookings from guests who have already completed a consecutive 14-night stay, in accordance with our maximum stay policy.  The person who makes the booking guarantees that the party will not exceed the numbers stated on the booking.  A minimum occupancy applies to all camping pitches.

Changes to Bookings

Bookings cannot be amended within 7 days of arrival.  Modifications are subject to a £10 fee.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please give as much notice as possible.  We advise that you take advantage of holiday insurance to cover your booking.  No refunds will be provided for cancellations.

If we are unable to provide you with your booked holiday and have to cancel before your holiday is due to start, you are entitled to a full refund of the money you have paid, or we can use the credit against a future booking.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any bookings, and bookings from any of the following will be automatically refused or cancelled without refund:

Campsite Rules

Children under 12 years old must be supervised at all times when on site, and are not permitted to play or run around the lakes.

Music/radio/TV can be enjoyed at an acceptable level during the day (after 8am), but must be switched off by 10.30pm.  After this time, only low-level talking is permitted.

Please refrain from using language that others may find offensive.  Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.  Any activity that causes harm to others, to the community or to the environment, or is deemed unacceptable in any way by a member of Blackland Lakes’ staff, will result in immediate expulsion from the campsite.

Please respect our facilities and leave them clean and tidy.  We have bins for general waste, cardboard/plastic/tins, glass and hot ash, which we encourage all visitors to use.  Unwanted camping equipment, electrical appliances and furniture should be taken away with you.  Please do not leave bags of rubbish on the ground as they attract wildlife and look unsightly.  Nappies, sanitary products, blue paper and wet wipes must not be flushed down the toilets.

Any maintenance or cleaning issues should be reported to reception immediately so that they can be resolved.  Those responsible for careless or intentional damage will be asked to pay for repairs or replacements, and will be asked to leave the site.

Our campsite is home to many forms of wildlife.  We ask that all visitors respect this and act in accordance with The Countryside Code.  Only goat food purchased from Blackland Lakes can be fed to the goats to ensure their welfare.  Please wash/sanitise your hands after coming into contact with them.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on site (up to three per pitch), but they must be supervised, on a lead and kept under control at all times.  All dog foul must be cleaned up and disposed of in the appropriate bins.  Dogs are not permitted in the lakes or the play park.

Please ensure that you do not trespass on our neighbouring properties.  OS maps clearly mark footpaths for walkers in and around our site.  If you are unsure, please ask at reception.

Consumption of alcohol, cigarettes and e-cigarettes on site must remain within the confines of the law.  ID will be required to purchase these items from our shop or bar if there is any doubt as to a person’s age.  During its opening times, only alcohol purchased from Sam’s Bar may be consumed in and around the bar area.  Please do not remove picnic tables from Sam’s Bar.  Drugs are prohibited.  If we are made aware of any person on site not abiding by this rule, they will be reported to the police and asked to leave.

BBQs and fire pits must be raised off the ground using bricks, which are available to borrow (please ask at reception).  Please do not burn wood; non-sparking briquettes are available to purchase.  Disposable BBQs and ground level fires are not permitted.  In very dry conditions, campers will be notified if no fires or BBQs are allowed.

The speed limit on site of 5mph must be adhered to at all times for everyone’s safety.  Property and vehicles are left at the owner’s risk.

Camping pitch electricity outlets should not be used to charge electric vehicles.

Fishing Rules

Fishing is not included in the price of camping and must be paid for in advance at reception.

How to Pitch

All pitches are marked with a numbered post with an arrow showing the side to pitch your tent/park your unit.  Your pitch has been allocated based on your requirements at the time of booking.

Standard electric pitches have 10 amp and Premium Pitches have 16 amp electricity.  Please be mindful of how many items you use at any one time, as an overload could lead to your pitch/your neighbour’s pitch tripping.  If this happens, please seek advice from a member of staff.  No refunds will be given if the electricity trips for this reason, only if there is an electrical fault.

Chemical (toilet) waste must be disposed of in one of the chemical disposal rooms, which can be found at the rear of both amenities buildings.

All pitches have space for one car.  If you have booked an additional car, please speak to a member of staff regarding the best place to park it.  Please see the diagram on the campsite map showing how to arrange your pitch.  Please be respectful of other campers.
